Haku is a boy to tell you the truth.

For real? Nooooooooo...

No, Haku's a girl. Don't be deceived! She's 100% girl. Believe it!

It is just that she was presented as a character who lied about her gender in order to protect her true identity. Some people just don't realize that she was lying and they think she was a boy.

Awesome sketch and tutorial. She looks awesome.

No... Haku really is a boy.
Maybe you are just protecting Naruto since he flirted with him thinking he was a woman =P

Anyway, this was really informative and even though Haku is in your own style you can still tell it's him (other than the boobs.. which he doesn't have)
And I didn't know about the high-key/low-key coloring so that was useful! :)

actually haku is a dude 'cuz in the flashback to when haku's dad killed his mom and left him for dead his father called him son. And if haku and haku's father didnt know whether or not he's a guy is messed up. but im just speculating; however more to the point are u usig the dodge tool to highliht in ure illustrations if so could u post a tutorial on using the dodge and burn tools?

That is a complete load. Haku's father did not have any lines in the series at all. He never called Haku "son". And her father didn't leave her for dead, he tried to KILL HER! Out of reflex Haku killed her own father with her kekkei genkai. So don't start claiming that Haku was male when you don't even know the storyline behind her character.

Haku was a girl and the series proves that. Naruto was right in thinking she was a girl, and that is why Haku told him otherwise, in order to throw him off from the truth.

This is a great representation of how Haku would look had she been a little older. Great artwork.

no in all seriousness haku is a boy check out any informative naruto web sight re watch the show whatever you got to do. its really not that big of a deal but it is sorta annoying. he dose have a female voice actor though like several other male charecters in the series
idrawgirls said…
Anonymous> Thank you...it's all in the confusion of voice, looked and everything as said. :)

XIA, bro, listen to me. Pleeeeease listen to me. Haku was a girl. She had female voice actors both in English and Japanese, she had a female character design in every aspect, and she had female characteristics in every aspect.

Those who say she was a boy have no idea what they're talking about. The Naruto fan sites are not official and have no idea what they're talking about.

Just click on my name, which is associated with this post, and read the article that is linked to it. That will explain everything and prove that Haku was a girl.

Haku was a girl girl girl girl GIRL! Believe it!

Thanks. You're a great artist.

I hope you liked my work as well. Right now I'm having some trouble with that article. Imageshack got hacked and I use that to host the images presented in that article, so some of the images might not show up. I hope you got to see them all to know what I was referencing. If not, keep checking back.

Keep up the great work.

Hello XIA,

Hope this comment finds you well,

I've been lurking around in your blog from time to time, watching your inspiring videos. Liking a lot of the stuff in there. :-)
I myself am an aspiring digital artist and saw that you're video recording your work.
Wanted to try that myself (thought it might help me to improve if I recorded myself working)
and was wondering what software you use for doing this, and if there are any additionals for it. Let me know if it costs anything or if there is a freeware alternate that you might know of.

Oh and give my website (shown below) a visit and tell me what you think of my stuff.

Thanks,

Solomon> Thanks for the kind words, I only know Camtasia, it's the best by far I've used. Kind of pricy, but if you are serious, it's worth. Or google for some FREEware, im sure there are tons.

HAKU IS A BOY! look at episode 9,10 or 11 he said that HE is a BOY and HE ....
uhm...You know what i'm saying
Believe it! said…
Haku said a lot of things that weren't true, like... that she was a tracker ninja, or that she was sent to kill Zabuza, or that Sasuke was dead. You have to learn to see through deception.

Plus, in the Japanese version (the official version) she told Naruto that she was an "otoko" which means "man". She didn't say "boy" in the Japanese version. Which means that what she said was a blatent lie, since she wasn't old enough to be considered a man even if she had been a male.
