Awesome stuff :D

Hey man, I don't want to over step my boundries or anything here but I thought you should know you're missing a T in the bubble that says "right this way" on the first section, and do you mean to say "sire" or "sir"?
"you mind sharing a table over there?" would be better as "Would you mind sharing that table over there?". "I don't have any spared changes!" should be "I don't have any spare change" and in the last section you are missing a T on "thought".

I feel a bit cheeky for pointing these out as it's your site and comic but it would read more clearly this way.

In panel one, it should be "anywhere", not "any where", or "any- where" if you're going to spread the word over two lines.

The fourth panel should read "I don't have any spare change!" Also, the word is spelled "Beggar." The text not in a bubble is hard to read.

Fifth panel: use "thought", not "though"

Also on that last panel, the bench has disappeared.

I'm a fan of the site and just thought I'd point these things out to hopefully be helpful.

Chris>> Not at all, feel free. :) Thanks again. That's what Blogging are for...raw material...and helping each other refining it.

anonymous> Thanks man! I really appreciate your help. Feel free to correct me.

I swear I really did pass English class in college. LOL... ;)

Nice Font, Xia! :D

I really like how you use the size of the font to indicate voice volume/loudness. The Fact that both the Guy and Girl does it, somehow links them together. The watress' word balloon in panel 2 should be a bit larger, as the text looks too crammed; while nice for a diner, not so good for readability.

The waitress could call the dude "sir" as "sire" is for addressing someone of high social status. Unless that's the custom for this time/place that this story's taking place in.

And check out plasq.com (no WWW prefix, they are that cool!) and their products Comic Life (Mac OS X and Windows) and Comic Life Magiq(Mac OS X only), they are quite nice for lettering comics and for assembling comics from diffferent sources of graphics (Photoshop, Jpg, PNG, TIFF files and such).

Just curious as to the resolution you're doing these pages in. I have made some templates that I use in Painter X for 11 x 17 inch at 300 dpi with Full Bleed lines copied from a BlueLIne Pro 11x17 fullbleed page.

Thanks so much for the tutorials, looking forward to next MangaFriday!

I see you've made the suggested changes to the text. It reads a lot better. One small last thing though, on the last panel you should have "asking for a donation."

Have you ever tried manually writing your own text instead of using a font? It would take longer, but could be more personalized and expressive. You could try printing off the page, then use a light table and maybe a Micron or Zebra pen to redo the text on a new sheet. With a decent scanner you could scan back in the new text in black and white mode and put it back in your manga without needing further cleanup.

I don't know much about manga, but here's an example of a comic that uses all custom text (done first on paper and scanned in, I believe): http://www.pbfcomics.com/

Mike> Thanks a lot man! This is so cool that you guys are sparing your precious time to help me out. This Manga will get better and better every time. And I checked out the ipod comics site, it's amazing. I will try to think and see what can I do with and how am I going to implement them...that wasn't part of the plan yet but...they are so cool that I can't stop thinking about them.

Luca>> Thank man!

curtis>> Thanks for the link previously. I download some fonts from there, they work well with what I am aiming for.
Hand written text? Interesting, but my hand writing is worst than doctor's prescription writing. I will experiment and try to give it a shot, but I doubt that my letters will be any better than the one you recommended. Thanks bro.

All>>
Thank you guys for your time and your love! Just know that I really appreciate YOU all trying to help me out with this comics project on the blog. :)

Lo, is bob again. Really liking the comic here, but a question once more.
I'm currently trying to take up anatomy, but after copying bridgman for the.. I don't know how many't time already, I still can't seem to do the anatomy propperly from my mind.
So if you can give some guidance on extreme angles and realistic anatomy in general, I'd be very much appreciative of that :)

Bob> I would highly recommend you find life drawing session in your area. They usually held it at university or college (open for everyone, probably $5-9 per session depending on where you live.) Or most likely they are organized by local painter or artists...you have to seek them out. Look up on google, meetup, facebook, etc. You might find something valuable.
Attend it at least once a week.

About the request...I will, but be patient...it will come and I will let you know.

peace!

Take your time.
And I already do lifedrawing, 4 times a week, 3 hours each.

Cheers, Bob.
