Color over humanoid character pencil drawing

Color over humanoid character pencil drawing.  Mutant humanoid creature concept design Photoshop sketch tutorial process. Manga Tutorial How to draw and color face biped or human creature step by step color sketch for comics, manga and video game. The creature drawing are some kind of experimental scribble sketchy I just play around with color and value stuff. :)

This one I am trying to make it looks raw mimicking water color or gauche on illustration board. It turns out ok I think.

I usually sketch some crazy design in my sketchbook almost everyday when I ever I got my hands free and sitting around the house or coffee shop.
Enjoy!

Final image:

1) This one I start off with pencil (I usually prefer 3b for sketching other than pen). Then I scanned it in and play around with Photoshop or Gimp.

Do you know any good exersises to get better at controlling value?
Luca said…
Yeah good question pokepetter!

Well Xia, nice one! the coloring effect is like drawing it on a brown-paper using chalks, at least that's how it looks for me. Wonderful bro!

By the way... it's been quite some time that I wanted to tell you about a photoshop shortcut key. I noticed that you duplicate the layers by dragging them down... well maybe you know it already but I usually duplicate layers by pressing CTRL+J. Hope it helps!

Peace!

Pokepetter> Ah! good thinking! I will do some research on that or ask around. :)

Luca> Thanks buddy! Yeah, I might have forgetten that short cut. cuz I also make my own hot keys that I often use. Thanks and I will be back with some answer, hopefully.

Yeah brother... you made me curious now! (although I'm not a curious person!) lol :D
I'm constantly entering this blog and wathcing "old" videos because as you told me once, there is always a hidden message - at least for me!

Also thanks for remembering about the landscape (much appreciated), I am currently working on one too, will upload it as soon as I finish it!

Thanks again bro!

Peace!

"Mua ha ha ha!" That sounded EVIL!
I hope you are going to share the info.(at least with me :D)
Anyway. Is it good to draw with pressure or not.I see Xia doesn't use it.
Anyway.Today a saw an awesome curtain!
idrawgirls said…
dahaca6022> Yes, you have to have the pressure on, but how sensitive is up to you. I just don't really use the airbrush button icon. Cool Curtain?!!! Show US!!!
Mua ha ha ha, poof! *disappear*
Luca said…
dahaca6022 > well bro basically the airbrush puts ink/ color according to the pressure you make (without moving the cursor). If you untick the airbrush you'll see that inks comes out when you move the cursor. Try making a dot. first make it without the airbrush and you'll see that the pressure is useless as long as you dont move the cursor the ink wont come out. Next try to make the dot with the airbrush and you'll see that according to the pressure, ink will spread.

Sry for my english - hope you've understood me!

Peace!
