How To draw Jean Grey Phoenix X-men

How to draw Jean Grey Phoenix X-men comics style step by step and video tutorial.
I just saw Marvel production trailer of X-men spin off, "Wolverine." It looks really promising, I really hope it will be as good as the trailer because I like the first two x-men movies, but not the third one.

***Update Nov 06, 2009 (New info)
How to draw Woman Comics #005 Marvelgirl, Jean Grey, x-men phoenix Part 1 of 2. Draw and Sketch comics character, woman girl female Marvel girl, x-men Jean Grey illustration sketch. Learn from Step by step and video tutorial. This one is focusing on portrait of female character design for comics, video game, and Manga. The process shows drawing and sketching video series of comic book characters that (hopefully) will help you gain knowledge of anatomy and dynamics in the positioning of the figure and the details.

In this tutorial, I will be adding some dynamic foreshortening in the sketch in part 2. In part 1, I'm focusing pretty much on the facial structure and the pose itself. Then I change my mind on the position of her hand and arm so I change it up and make another video for part 2.

A bit about X-men character, Jean Grey: Jean Grey is a fictional comic book superheroine appearing in books published by Marvel Comics. She has been known under the aliases Marvel Girl and later, Phoenix and Dark Phoenix, and is best known as one of five original members of the X-Men, for her relationship with husband Cyclops, and for her central role and transformation in the classic X-Men storyline, the "Dark Phoenix Saga."

Jean Grey is a mutant born with telepathic and telekinetic powers. Her powers first manifested when she saw her childhood friend being hit by a car. She is a caring, nurturing figure, but she also must deal with being an Omega-level mutant and the physical manifestation of the cosmic Phoenix Force. She faces death several times in the history of the series, first in the classic "Dark Phoenix Saga" but due to her connection with the Phoenix Force, she, as her namesake implies, rises from death.

More superhero tutorials here, How to draw comics Supergirl woman drawing tutorial is the most recent one. Then comes How to draw Fantastic 4 Susan Storm (basic figure line drawing with comics pose). Nice on brother -- I saw it on youtube as soon as you uploaded it there! :)
One question, you don't recommend to start painting using colors straight away? you always start using greyscale values?
Thanks a lot and regarding that movie, I don't know about it but I will SURELY go and watch it... Frank Miller is truly awesome and till now I never got disappointed with his films.

Thanks again!

Peace!

Luca> Either way works, depending on what you are comfortable with. But the truth remains 1) Readability, 2) Values (ligh & dark) 3) Composition. As long as you can have the basic three correct, you are fine. Then add more final rules, go read composition stuff. :)

Ruth> Thanks, see you again sometimes soon. :)

Hi i saw your videos on youtube but still i don't know how you apply the colors :/, i mean, do you make another layer above the gray illsutration and change the blending mode and star painting or just paint with color above but with a low opacity?........that's a doubt that i had for many years...i'll be really gratefull if you answer me T_T

Kuruseiru> If your value is correct when you paint gray, you can use overlay mode and find desire color...play around with it by changing its hue/saturation. Then when I get the overall color I want, I usually merge them and paint them in normal mode to make it look how I want...usually painterly. It takes time ;)

Don't the featured tutorials go into
colouring also? At least some of them.

Finally after whining a few times
about it, I've put up a full
photographic report of six months in
Lombok. The first post also has a
link to the last post previous to the
Diaries of a DiveMaster series.

Take a look over at the community and
hopefully you find them useful.

The "Underwater" series and actual
works made in Lombok will follow in
a few days.

Ok so I'm an aspiring, high school artist and have been working on my skills during my off time going to streams and watching various tutorials. This is by far one of the best sites I've found and would like to thank you aswell for these great tutorials. Since you're open for questions I'd like to ask you if you'd do a zoids sketch. I've always found the combination of robotics and animal anatomy fascinating and would like to see you do a tutorial on it Thanks!!!
