The 'Samara bend' is a large, backwards-C-shaped bend in the middle Volga River at the confluence of the Samara River.

The Samara River valley offers an easy passage to the Ural River valley, and historically has been a major locus for interchange between eastern European and Central Asian cultures.

The major battle between Volga Bulgaria and the Mongols will happen on the north steppe of Samara Bend. The renounce commander Ghabdulla Chelbir of Volga Bulgaria will lead over 100,000 Bulgarhs to defend their territory against the Mongol invader. Subutai and Jebe the two famous Mongol generals insist in their plan to take over this land so that the Golden Horde and the Blue Horde of Genghis Khan can pursue further West.

"Quick Sand" regimen's task is to cut off the coming reinforcement from the South. Since they are out numbered by almost double, they have to rely on their expertise, strategy and skills.

NOTE: Nowadays, it is situated in Samara Oblast, Volga Federal District of Russia. It is also a classic invasion route. What is now the city of Samara was founded in 1586 as a tsarist defense outpost.
