How to draw woman body, Female Figure study

How to draw woman body basic, Female Figure study, woman body proportion modelsheet update.

Here are some figure studies I did recently and update on the female model-sheet that I did a while back in 2007 old version. These are somewhat quick pencil sketch, most of them are 5-6 minutes with the exception of the model-sheets itself.

Drawing female figure video  tutorial is also available on my Gumroad Store

While model-sheet poses themselves might not always be the most flattering for the female form, they are meant for beginners and intermediate artists alike to study proportions and check for accuracy.
One of the most critical things to keep in mind when drawing women is conveying femininity through body language. Ideally, an artist should capture a character’s very essence and communicate it through line work, sketches, and drawings—much like a poet describing the beauty of a lover. As visual artists, we communicate this through body language, gesture, and movement: finding what makes a pose feel feminine and observing how women naturally stand, sit, or recline.
The best way to study the figure—and what artists have done for centuries—is drawing from life. Attending life-drawing sessions is essential for every artist. Beyond that, photo references, my tutorials (haha), and good art books are great supplemental resources if you want to push your skills further.
Anyway, here are some female figure sketches to check out!

This one is really old, but you get the point.

You can also check out the new and update of the late 2010 tutorial on female figures, most of these are painting step by step tutorials, some include video tutorials.  Recline female figure study has two posts.  The first is nude recline female figure quick color.  And the second is female figure study recline step by step.  These two part tutorial I pretty much focus on rough brush work and play around with textures.  Both are the same painting but it has part one and part two.  Then there is a speedpainting figure study back which I pretty much focus on looseness control and brush strokes.  Also if you like comics style pin up painting, check out Emma Frost X-men first class and 2011 is year of the rabbit.  Both are not really focus on brush work, rather smooth rendering of the skin itself.  And Black Rock Shooter color sketch work is a really stylize that is similar to that of Anime or stylize Manga, but not typical.

Below are my premium video tutorials on Gumroad.
They all have 5 stars review, but I had to switch the Gumroad Store because I relocated from Seattle to Thailand and Gumroad just cannot change the account for me so I had to started it all over again.

Enjoy them sketches!! ;)

Luca > I noticed also the community site is corrupted. It seems the servers has been hacked and some addware has been added.

We are working to solve the problem but since this is a servers side problem, it might take a while.

Once its back to normal, we'll put up a notice on the community. But until than, we can't do much with it, posting wise.

Awesome.

I tried applying for a membership to the community site. None of my requests have been returned or confirmed. The crash could be the problem.

I enjoy Your pencil work. I can honestly say it's no thanks to Your blog and this community that I've enrolled in The Art Institute for my Bachelor's in Game Art and Design. Any tips?

Knuckles> It seems to work fine now for me. :)

Anonymous> Try again cos I think it's back to function. regarding my tips, I suggest you to get some of Xia's feature tutorials. He explains his process as if it was for work... from thumbnails sketches to the full polished pieces. He also talks about design and angles etc...

Other than that, I suggest you to practice every single day! :)

Peace.

Luca & Knuckle & Anonymous> It's urgent, yes the community has been hacked...as soon as you log in, the hacker install malware on your computer. In this case, it will endanger all the members. So I have to delete the whole community. I know it's sad but I have to do it otherwise when people try to log in they will get melware.
I have no idea why they are hacking us, but it's not only us. It's been happening everywhere there with Wordpress. Someone is targeting site that use Wordpress. I've been notified by Wordpress and my host. Wordpress already fix this with their latest upgrade, but we are a little too late. So I have to delete the community part before it spreads to the rest of the site and server.
Sorry, we have to start it all over again. :(
I will do the blog post tomorrow, Im still devastated by the event and very pissed off.

That sucks. I guess all you can do is treat it as a fresh start for the community. I look forward to seeing new pictures!

Chris & Luca> Yeah...I'm looking to use the old blogger as format. Cuz I was looking at ArtJumble Blogspot and it has over 100 members so as a long time member of that site, I will ask the founder how he did it to take the 100 members cap off. Will see....yeah it's really frustrating...I wish I have 48 hours a day instead of 24. :P
