I really like this style and want to say thanks for the great tutorials.
I'm having a tough time with the hair and shading (Box 4). What brush and settings are you using there to get that nice texture and overlay? Mine tends to come out blocky or too scratchy, without blending well.

Anonymous> Thanks brother, blending and nice texture doesn't come from just one brush stroke...it's a combination of many strokes and how you arrange them.
I wouldn't concern so much about custom brush to begin with though you can find them on the right side of the blog about making brushes, brushes download,...or type in the search box.
What I usually focus on is getting the correct drawing and values to establish solid image...then brushes will come afterward.
