This is like an illustration without a sketch.Never tried to draw like this.Value isn't my good side.I guess that's the thing that makes art real.
Anyway the marine looks happy, kinda manga chibi.I don't know why it does.
Sorry to ask this but is he on drugs? :D

wow. great work. Nice to see a different approach than usual^^. It looks pretty comprehensive. How much time did it take you?

wow I like it! I always taught of doing this kind of techniques (lay shapes then sculpt) but never tried it out! By the way I'm one of those who always asks you about color! :D But I have to tell you that after watching your tutorials I'm getting more used. Thanks bro... keep posting Value RULES!!

Peace!

Hey man, this rules! I really like the style - those quick marks give it alot of energy. You can feel the clunky movement in it.

I know you say it isn't finished, but I don't think it was that far off.. I'd probably make the gun feel more solid as it's sorta merging with the building then who knows...

Anyway great job!

I think I am on drugs.Everything looks happy to me.

dahaca> Maybe you are on drug :) But I can see why it looks happy, probably because of the eyes' shape. Chibi? Whao...now you got me thinking about doing Chibi superheros. Great idea! But no more drug for you :)

Pokepetter> Brother, I know sometimes I ran out of ideas so I let my brush take over (or try to find way to cheat myself, kiddin) in the beginning and just follow whatever shape it takes and try to read thru the shape it creates. When I see shape then I am just kind of visualizing whatever that comes to mind (think of any topics pirates, dragons, etc.) then go from there. This one takes me about 20 mins.

Luca> You should, brother. I do it whenever I run out of idea...if my mind is blank, I let my brush take over in the beginning and just follow whatever shape it takes and try to read thru the shape it creates at times. Good fun, hard at first but it will come in time.
BTW: good looking demon you did, keep it up!

Chris> Thanks, I hope I could be consistent in this approach. I haven't done it enough. Is' fun because I feel as if I am doing gesture drawing, everything has to be spontaneous which is the best part. It got lots of energy probably because there was no pre-meditational concept or ideas so it flows on itself.
Thanks for the remark, it's true if I make the gun more solid it would probably be more refine. And I should push the building back a little more to differentiate the element from the gun itself. Good thinking bro!

I did lay of the drugs but now he looks like a marine with a blue mount. The eyes are deathly but mount is...or is he laughing with destruction.Yea! now I get it!You can draw a nuclear explosion behind him AND a bloody knife on his gun. Can't thing of anything else.

dahaca> Thanks bro! why is your name changing? That's a lot of imagination there...maybe I come back to edit the pic sometime later, but for now. It is as it is...the thing about speedpainting is more like a suggestive and conveying to get the overall feel and look...lighting, value & composition.
When you finish yours, post them on the community! :)
Peace!

Looking around your site and im amazed. im a complete noob to art, painting and drawing in general but ive always been interested and would love to learn how to draw both digitally and traditionally. (just ordered a wacom :)

Ok im ranting lol.. I originally started making this comment because I've noticed a lot of the videos hosted on "Revver" (i think its called???) are missing. are they hosted anywhere else? I'd really like to watch the Space Marine Commander video

ArtistOath> I make them. The best way to obtain it. :)

Stevie> It's really sad that they went out of business (REVVER), now I Have to find all the ages old video that I upload and re upload them somewhere. I will if I have some more time...most of the older video kinda sucks and low res so....I don't know if I should...I should just keep making new ones. :)
