You make them so sketch but the effect is so cool man! I really like it! I think you colored it using the overlay right?
Well done man!

Peace!

Luna> Thanks, the color balance on the face turned out very close to what I have in mind also. So you like mean face, don't ya?

Luca> Thanks, I am still trying to find my way. I only use overlay heavily on step1 and 2, then I start using 70%-100% hard and soft round alternate. Overlay is basically use to find color base, then real thick paint begins after that.

Looks good for the most part, I am certainly no professional but I can't help but think the anatomy is slightly off, with her shoulders being a bit too far apart for such a skinny and cute girl (unless she is completely full of muscles underneath those clothes!)

I love checking your website every day though, always exciting to see what you have cooked up each day :)

David> Thanks, I agree with you that the shoulder is a bit wide, but it is not her shoulder. Some jacket design are suppose to make your shoulder looks masculine (it creates large "V" Shape. Also I tend to over exaggerated her boyish a bit to emphasis the "meanness or toughness"

Also if you look at the length of the clothing body (in this one) in comparison to real anatomy, it is also off. But she is wearing her oversize paint at her hip so her groin is lower than it actually is.

Drawing oversize cloth are a bit tricky. So does cartooning and exaggeration. It is also tricky to say how far you should go on accentuate and such. Say if you are doing character design in style of "The Incredible" of Pixar. Then a lot of things are going to be off. BUT they are still base on the knowledge of real anatomy and feature...which push so far as caricature to extreme. It's the matter of preference.

Anyway, it's a long and important subject to discuss.

FYI: usually the shoulder are three heads wide.

My two cents are it is always good to acknowledge your anatomy and never to ignore.

Peace!
