How to draw face side view. Here is another portrait sketch study practice of a female side view. I usually start with basic geometry shape, for face, I use a circle but when you draw it out you should treat it as sphere. Then I draw a triangular shape below on one side of the sphere. Then I draw a horizontal line across the circle about half the height. Then the distance from the line to the bottom of the chin, half way in between that you could establish the bottom of the nose. Then half way between the bottom of the nose to chin, you will find where you could place a mouth.
Then on the horizontal line itself, you can draw another line underneath it parallel to the first one. And that would be the estimated distance of the eye's height. Anyway here is a final piece of the sketch:

Learn how to draw arm muscle front view video and step by step tutorial. This tutorial will show you how to draw basic muscular male arm looking from the front view. Basically I usually start of with basic shapes, just think of it as geometry shape to simplify the form. After you have a rough shape or under drawing then you can start tightening up your drawing creating shoulder muscle or Deltoids.

Then along the way down we have bicep closer to the torso (from front view) then triceps on the outside.

Then down to forearm, we have (from closer to torso then further out) Pronator, Supinator, Flexor and Extensor closer below to the wrist. Anyway, watch the video then you will know exactly how to draw them and where they should locate.

This is an update from the last post of the character HuangRong (黃蓉) concept design tribute to Condor Hero (射鵰英雄傳 -pinyin: shè diāo yīng xióng zhuàn) a Wuxia novel of Jin Rong or Louis Cha (查良鏞). See previous post Digital painting tutorial character. In the painting process I define the values (light and shadow) more and adding more color according to the existing values of the images. The I continue to add on more design onto the character as I see fit. The costume may not be a typical Song Dynasty as the character suppose to be in the historical timeline. It's more of a fun costume design just for the conceptual design or purely visual art purpose. I will keep on refining the concept to the final, it will probably take more hours of thinking and planning rather than executing the painting. Lighting is one of the most difficult problem to solve in painting and we all hope to at least get them to look fine, but if I could master it in this life time would be nice. :)

How to paint landscape mountains river.

How to paint landscape mountains river.  Environmental sketch concept digital painting video tutorial, Cliff Mountain Cloud Sky water landscape.


Here is another environmental landscape sketch exercise I did. This one is pretty similar to the previous environmental sketch tutorial except I focus more on simplifying shapes and strokes. Details painting is good only when the moment comes, painting big scale stuff I believe I better off make it simple first and arrange the overall composition and values before going in and add unnecessary detail. It's easily said than done. But practice make us better artist. So...keep painting and drawing, also important to keep keen eyes for observing and study.


Compare to the previous one ( Environment digital painting process ), I prefer this piece more because of its simplicity and implication with just big strokes rather than trying to go in and fill all the unnecessary information. The lighting, depth and color range are also a bit better in my opinion.

Abit about the character: Anko Mitarashi (みたらしアンコ, Mitarashi Anko) is the examiner for the second exam of the Chūnin Selection Exams.
Anko was once the student of Orochimaru. Later she, along with nine others, were branded with Orochimaru's first ten Cursed Seals of Heaven. Of the ten, Anko was the only one to survive, establishing the one-in-ten chance of surviving the Cursed Seal. Orochimaru supposedly rejected Anko as a subordinate, believing she did not have the lust for power or vengeance needed to fuel the Cursed Seal. Orochimaru lost interest in her, though he believed there was some value in letting her live. She was glad to discover that she wasn't tossed away like trash as she first had thought by Orochimaru, but chose to leave Orochimaru herself.

This post is a very basic tutorial for beginners. In this one you will learn to draw Anime or Manga character female, girl with foreshortening perspective and close up of a hand. We provide you with both FREE tutorial video and step by step tutorial.

Let begin drawing and sketching anime girl character series for manga, cartoon and comics.
First I will start very light rough sketch (or I called it construction lines) of a head, torso, hip, then arm in form of basic geometry shapes. Depending on what you focus on, aim for the big form first. It's a lot easier to draw when you break down body part in geometry first.
Then smooth out the geometry form by drawing over the light sketch construction lines. It is easy to make your line solid and pretty when you already have something to go off from.
