You remembered to Gimp again :). It's nice to hear your compliments to it, because it's really quality and powerful nevertheless the fact it's free. These times it doesn't apply that only expensive things are good... yeah maybe for money you get support and other needless things, but quality is about people, a large community of users and developers.
Anyway, I have to say that I like watching you working with Gimp more than with PS, as when you work with it you are quite clumsy :), so you don't do everything on first try, but with your learning process you come nearer to average novice (like me) as you are trying different techniques, it's slower and you have to do more corrections... in other words it's more "tutorialized" to see it than kinda speedpainting where in blink of an eye I see result... so I highly appriciate your work with Gimp...

please, do more work in Gimp, it's a great learning source to see you in this position

have fun & good luck

P.S.: it was fun to watch your first Gimp video where you were apparently really surprised and magnifying it after your first serious use what it's really able to do :P I mean funny is that you were linking to it dozens of times in previous entrys that it's good alternative etc., but in fact you haven't tried it ^^ I think prejudice against Gimp is quite serious problem and that's why everyone wants only PS... again, it's really nice that you have tried it, you were obviously surprised by abilities and now you can honestly advise it to visitors :)

Thanks for your support and kind regards. I definitely will try to do more of Gimp as I get a little more comfortable with it.

Cheers!

What a great tutorial... my drawing is more at the stage where you stopped with the lineart :) but I'm trying to do more painting and just found your site. I'd *love* to see more "simple" creatures like this turned into little creatures along the same lines... and I really like that you used gimp. I haven't used it in a while, but I'm going to have to load up the newest version and try it again.

thanks again for a great tutorial and a great site.
