Environmental sketch process, step by step

Environmental sketch process, step by step. It's some kind of a hole or a tunnel.

This one is just a quick practice study sketch to find some cool composition, shape and lighting, and get my hand warm up. It didn't really turn out like how I want to...too many miss strokes and unnecessary attempt to put things in, but I show you guys any way.

Here is a final sketch: This would also be somewhat a three point perspective but clumsy one. :)

Here are step by step quick sketch of industrial tunnel of some sort.
1)
2)
3) Attempt to put some kind of hoover craft in there, but fail...so I change it to the final version up on top.

well xia I really liked this one (as for each and every SINGLE art you make!) I practice everyday hoping to get better...

Anyways I don't see the reason why you removed that hoover craft, it was really nice especially if you'd have added some light getting out from below! Still I like the way you finished it, but how the hell do you get these ideas???!!! :)

luca> Unlike the previous three environmental concept which they are all imagination. This one I have some sort of a ref, it's good for practice lighting, comp, and refreshing your color palette. Sometimes if I am stuck with the same old routine, I will break off and do random words on google, then look for cool images. This one came from one of those tunnel images.
peace!

The last thing I did can be found on my blog... if you have time give it a look and send me your opinion, also if you've got time check your inbox I sent you an image I did-- but I need your opinion on it.

Thanks man, you're really being of GREAT HELP for me... I owe you so (SO) much! =_=

I like this one, bit better than the
previous one. There it seemed the
right was a bit off. Anyhow I think
it's good you left out the hovercraft,
prob would have been to much.

As for inspiration, going on wikipedia
and pressing the "random page" button
in the left menu below the logo can
bring up some interesting things,
like a list of state heads from
400BC or something. ;)

Also, I think Xia will agree, that if
you want the best comments on your
work, it's best to post them at the
community where Xia and anyone who's
member can comment on it.

Larger audience, better and more comment.

Besides that you save Xia's bandwidth and inbox.

Have you got it in high-res? If you could upload a high-res image, it'd be highly appreciated.

I'd like to study it a bit.

I really like that gritty feel. How do make that? Texture brush?

Knuckle>> Good point!
Luca>> Sorry for the late reply...I have to keep up with tons of things, but I will try my best to get them all. :)

PokePotter>> I didn't work on it that high on this one only 1000 width. You can enlarge the final one to 1000 px width. I forgot to enlarge the size during the detail stage. :) Next time around I will have a Bigger ones, keep watching.
It's texture brush. Google image for rust or noise... then turn it to gray-scale, then us level to make it into B/W. Then capture brush and save. :)
